Course Outline:  

The most efficient way to develop your skills and intuition is to practice Alla Prima painting. Gaining the ability to work with precision, is key in your development as a painter. Dominique will provide demos and break down the process of painting into clear and consecutive steps. We will focus on the 4 main aspects of a portrait: Proportion, Value, Color, and Edge and will aim to capture a likeness each session. We will be using a limited palette that is designed to help you understand color theory and color relationships so that you can easily match skin tones. This workshop will be a challenge but also great fun. The painting process we use is bound to give you many insights and inspiration for years to come.
