Procreate for Painters – Part 2: Editing Reference & Composition
In this follow-up Procreate class, we’ll take your digital art skills to the next level with a focus on editing reference, composition, and building a strong reference for painting. Designed especially for traditional artists—particularly oil painters—this workshop will help you develop a digital workflow that supports your creative process.
Agustina will guide you through practical techniques for using Procreate as a powerful planning tool. You’ll learn how to strengthen your compositions, experiment with light and color, and combine multiple references into one cohesive image—before ever picking up a brush.
In this workshop you will learn how to:
Edit and manipulate photo references
Strengthen compositions and value structures
Experiment with color and lighting digitally before painting
Combine multiple references into a cohesive painting plan
Build digital skills that support traditional oil painting
Troubleshoot a portrait using Procreate
Requirements:
This class is intended for students who already have a basic working knowledge of Procreate. You should feel comfortable with things like:
Importing and resizing an image
Using basic adjustment tools (like brightness/contrast or hue/saturation)
Making and editing selections
If you’re not quite there yet, we recommend purchasing and watching Part 1 of this series first: Procreate for Painters - Part 1
Class Format:
This class includes pre-recorded sessions where you’ll learn step-by-step techniques, and a live session where we’ll review your own references. You’ll be able to ask questions, get feedback, and watch live demonstrations on how Agustina would approach editing your images.
Agustina won’t be going too fast, but she also won’t be reviewing every basic tool—so you can expect a steady, thoughtful pace that assumes you’re already a little familiar with the app.
By the end of this course, you’ll be able to use Procreate as a smart and supportive tool to help you create stronger, more intentional references for your paintings.
Tuition: $200 (Beginner)
