Workshop Description:

Join this unique portrait painting workshop and discover the beauty of capturing the essence of your chosen subject in a painting. Dominique will demonstrate a 4 step portrait painting process while drawing inspiration from the late Irish poet John O'Donohue, her chosen model. Students will use their own photo reference of a family member, mentor, or someone who’s had a meaningful impact on their lives. The focus will be on painting techniques that capture the sitter's essential traits. To aid with this process we will also do brief writing exercises, breakout groups, and discussions to facilitate deeper understanding of the model. Each session students receive critiques and guidance. This is a rare opportunity to delve deep into the subtleties of the painting process
