Dominique Medici Studio Online
Plein-Air Painting with a Limited Palette
June 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 2022 (5 Wednesdays)
Tuition: $200 (All Levels)
Theme for the month: Painting a Skagit Valley Farm
Dominique Medici takes the easel and cameras outdoors this summer to paint and record the class en plein air. The first demo is a small color study from life of a Skagit Valley farm in Washington State. Dominique analyzes both the color study and reference on an iPad to find the average colors and devise a strategy for going bigger. Then shows you how to transfer your study to a larger canvas, mix pools of color to blockin your canvas and create a finished studio work.

Commonly Asked Questions
Can I use Acrylic, Gouache, Watercolor or Pastel?
Yes you can use any medium you like. I only talk about oil painting processes in the demos but many of the processes and ideas translate to other mediums.
My critiques focus on Proportions, value, color and over all feeling/ quality of brushwork. So even though I wont comment specifically on the medium you are using I will critique everyones work based on the above criteria
What if I need to miss a class?
No problem, both demos and critiques are recorded and available within 24hrs from the live class
Can I work from my own reference?
To ensure a cohesive and clear learning experience for all Dominique will provide video reference and still images to work from
Once you have done the assignments and the class is over, then try out the process on paintings of your choosing.
How long do I have access to the Recordings?
Demos and Critiques are recorded in HD and you have lifetime access to the Plein Air painting classes.
Will my work be critiqued?
Yes anyone who is enrolled and submits their work by Tuesday Eve at 9pm (wherever you are in the world) will get a critique on Wednesday.
Critiques are optional but suggested. Late submissions are not critiqued.
