Class Description - Portrait and Figure Painting with a Limited Palette: Alla Prima
November 4, 11, 18, December 2 (4 Sessions, no class Nov 25)
9:30–11:30am PT / 12:30–2:30pm EST
Working alla prima, wet into wet in a single sitting, is one of the quickest ways to sharpen your eye and your instinct. Over four weeks you'll complete one painting each session. Dominique demonstrates a systematic, repeatable approach, followed by individual critique. Working from photographs and master paintings with a limited palette, we focus on proportion, value, color, and edge to capture a convincing likeness.
Open to all levels; some drawing experience is helpful. Demos and critiques are recorded and uploaded within 24 hours, with 2 years of access to all videos.
